Item Description

Extremely rare Pierre Paulin for A. Polak originals lounge chair. Arguably the most beautiful design by Pierre Paulin, and for sure the rarest. Bought in 1960 by the original owners at Metz & Co, the distinguished furniture store in Amsterdam, with storefront and interior designed by Gerrit Rietveld. The original leather seat was dryed out completely, the leather remnants where used to make an exact copy of the leather, making it suitable for everyday use.
Many of the smart design solutions used in this chair where later applied by Pierre Paulin for the F444 chair he designed for Artifort.

The chair is made of stainless steel and was very complicated to produce, and therefore very expensive, hence the rarity.

Excellent fast and affordable worldwide shipping.
