Item Description
Easy chair by Pierre Paulin, metal and mesh, F444, the Netherlands, circa 1965. This mesh F-444 chair is designed by Pierre Paulin for Artifort in 1962. This chair shows sharp lines and features an angled open frame that provides a floating seat. Due the use of a black enameled steel frame and mesh a beautiful contrast and thus a modern expression is created. Marked and labeled. Very comfortable chair! Pierre Paulin (1927-2009) was a French postwar designer who studied sculpture. But his study was not what influenced Paulin as he was a mediocre student and is a selfmade designer, so he claimed himself. Paulin saw the importance of the social role of design and for this he looked at Nordic modernity and simplicity for inspiration. A great talent of Paulin was that he could envision the concepts of his furniture in 3D in his mind. Paulin was someone who researched his design thoroughly.
