Exceptional and rare Voyager lounge chair with footstool designed by artist Gaby Fois Dorell for Saporiti, Italy. Gaby Fois Dorell is a French-American artist and designer known for her bold and colorful abstract paintings and sculptures. Born in France, she moved to the United States at a young age and studied at the prestigious Art Institute of Chicago. She later returned to France to continue her studies in art and design. Fois Dorell’s work is characterized by its use of bright colors, bold forms and dynamic brushstrokes. Her paintings often feature large expanses of color and sweeping brushstrokes that seem to dance across the canvas. Her sculptures, on the other hand, are often made of metal and are characterized by their geometric shapes and clean lines. Fois Dorell’s work is heavily influenced by the work of the French Fauvist painters, and her paintings are often compared to the work of Matisse and Derain. She also takes inspiration from the work of the American Abstract Expressionists, and her sculptures have been compared to the work of David Smith and Mark di Suvero. Fois Dorell’s work has been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world, and she is considered to be one of the most exciting and innovative artists of her generation. Her work is highly sought after by collectors and is held in the collections of several major museums. Chair and footstool are executed with stainless steel swivel base with plywood seat shell and Technogel pads. Technogel is a high-tech polyurethane, developed for technical use, sporting goods and for furniture products. It offers remarkable comfort, stability and shock absorption. Gaby Fois Dorell designed similar benches for MoMa NY in 2001. Marked Saporiti Italia.
