Carlo Bartoli Solar Lounge Chair in Fiberglass made by Arflex in 1967. Fiberglass and polyester resin with lacquer finish. An identical example is included in the permanent collection of the MoMA in New York. Fine completely original condition with some very minor chips to the edge. The beautiful ivory gloss finish is still shiny and unrestored. Carlo Bartoli (1931–2020) was an influential Italian architect and designer known for his innovative and functional furniture creations. He founded Bartoli Design, a studio dedicated to modern design solutions. One of his most famous works is the Gaia armchair (1967), now part of the MoMA and Centre Pompidou collections. Bartoli collaborated with renowned brands like Kartell, Arflex, and Bonaldo, producing elegant yet practical designs. His approach combined minimalism with a deep understanding of materials and industrial production techniques. Throughout his career, Bartoli received prestigious awards, including the Compasso d’Oro.
