Item Description

A rare opportunity to acquire one of the first Baker Sofas produced by One Collection in Denmark, the company now internationally known as House of Finn Juhl, the official licensed manufacturer of Finn Juhl’s iconic designs. This early example stands out not only for its provenance but also for its exceptional materials and exquisite craftsmanship. The sofa features a solid teak frame, sculpted with the organic elegance characteristic of Finn Juhl’s work. Teak was Juhl’s preferred wood, chosen for its warmth, strength, and refined grain. Today, this material is no longer available for the Baker Sofa, as the high-quality teak required for the frame is no longer harvested—making early teak versions especially sought after. Upholstered in its beautiful original fabric, the piece retains a harmonious, authentic presence that speaks to its mid-century origins. It is marked with both signature and label, exactly as shown in the photographs, confirming its early production and collectible status. A highly desirable, museum-quality sofa—rare, elegant, and an essential piece for the dedicated Finn Juhl collector.
