Item Description
This is an exceptional opportunity to acquire one of the rarest and most innovative floor lamps to emerge from Dutch post-war design: the Magneto floor lamp, designed by H. Fillekes and manufactured by Ateliers Artiforte in 1956. Produced for a remarkably short period between 1954 and 1958, and hand-assembled in limited quantities, this lamp represents a true collector’s item—a piece of mid-century design history that is increasingly difficult to find on the market. The Magneto is celebrated for its ingenious mechanical core: a powerful magnetic ball joint that connects the balancing arm to the base, allowing the lamp to be positioned in virtually any direction . This innovative system—decades ahead of its time—enables the lamp to rotate freely, with the arm capable of being positioned up or down, extended or retracted, making it not only a sculptural masterpiece but also an exceptionally functional reading lamp. This lamp is checked in our own atelier, cleaned and is suitable for use in the USA. For US usage we provide a converter plug so you can keep the piece completely original.
