An exceptionally rare and complete Art Nouveau bedroom suite attributed to the celebrated Belgian designer Gustave Serrurier-Bovy (1858–1910). Executed in beautifully figured walnut, the ensemble comprises a twin bed, a pair of nightstands with their original Comblanchien limestone tops, a dressing table with a matching Comblanchien limestone top and monumental mirror, and two matching side chairs. The suite is a compelling example of Serrurier-Bovy’s pioneering contribution to European Art Nouveau and early modern design. The design of the suite closely relates to documented furniture by Gustave Serrurier-Bovy, sharing his characteristic interplay of curvilinear framing, restrained organic ornament, and architectural construction, supporting the attribution.
