Charles Pfister was an American architect who was born in 1939 and passed away in 2007. He was best known for his work in the field of postmodern architecture, which emphasized ornamentation, historical references, and a playful use of traditional forms. One of his most notable works is the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, which he renovated in the 1980s. The hotel, which originally opened in 1893, had fallen into disrepair, and Pfister’s renovation restored it to its former glory while also incorporating modern amenities. Pfister was also known for his work on commercial and institutional buildings, and he was widely regarded as a master of his craft.
