Interesting large modern art piece about the passing of time. Perspex box with a composition of magnified gold coated wooden cogs as used in watches and clocks. The large cog is turning very slowly, the other cogs are stationary and not linked to the large cog. Marked with a sticker Hecowiam BV, which stands for ‘Herman Cohen Wetenschappelijk Instituut Amsterdam’. This was the art collection of Max Hasfeld, a notorious real estate mogul in Amsterdam in the 1990s. Unfortunately the artist is unknown.
