Item Description

Pair of Vases Model 585 designed by Ettore Sottsass in 1960. Realized circa 1961 by Società Ceramica Toscana di Figline for Milanese gallery Il Sestante in different colors. One vase in oxblood red glaze, the other one jet black. Unique opportunity to acquire a pair of early original Sottsass pieces. The black vase was displayed in the exhibition “Celebrating Ceramics: 100 year Ettore Sottsass” in the Design Museum in Den Bosch the Netherlands in 2017. Both vases are signed at the bottom. Excellent Both vases are hand thrown and glazed, they show many “imperfections” like color differences and hairlines in the glaze.
