With this in mind, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec designed the Alcove Sofa, which was inspired by the Arabic “al-qubba”, and is a secluded, upholstered niche, designed for lounging and sleeping. With this Alcove Highback Sofa, the side and back panels have been raised even higher so that they are considerably above the head height of the person seated. In this way, a perfect place is provided for optical and acoustic screening — whether in the office, in a lobby or in a large room in the home. Additionally, anyone looking for the maximum degree of privacy will choose the Love Seat in the Highback design. With its particularly high side and back panels, this piece of furniture offers a unique feeling of security. Upholstered in a Kvadrat fabric. Executed in a bright red color on the outside and dark grey on the inside and 6 pillows. Body: back and side panels with organic fibreboard core, connected with zip fasteners. Quilted cover with polyester-fibre padding. Frame: tubular steel with chrome-plated finish. Legs: steel, chrome-plated.
