Item Description

Double cylindrical Mid-Century Modern spotlight by René-Jean Caillette for Perscot, France. The two cylindrical elements of the sconce can tilt and swivel independently in every direction via a swivel joint connecting the stem to the base. Not as well-known yet as the designs by Prouvé, Perriand and Mouille, but rare, beautiful and stil affordable. Marked with label. René-Jean Caillette (1919-2005) was a French furniture designer celebrated for his pioneering contributions to mid-20th-century modernist design. He emerged as a prominent figure in the post-war era, embracing simplicity, functionality, and craftsmanship in his creations. Caillette’s designs often featured clean lines, organic shapes, and a harmonious balance between form and function. His iconic furniture pieces, such as the “Lotus” chair and the “Archal” desk, became synonymous with the elegance and innovation of French modernism.
