Item Description
Large architectural table or floor lamp, attributed to new lamp, manufactured in Italy in the 1970s. The light of the three-light bulbs behind the opaline plexiglass centre column exits through the edges of the clear plexiglass sheets making the lamp look like a city skyline.
Alongside companies like Arteluce, Arredoluce, Stilnovo and Stilux, new lamp was one of the important manufacturers of Mid-Century Modern, Italian lighting design. These manufacturers worked with Italian designers like Gio Ponti, Ettore Sottsass, Angelo Lelli and Gino Sarfatti.
