Item Description

Sculptural and refined wall light designed by Vittoriano Viganò for Arteluce, among the most influential Italian lighting manufacturers of the post-war period. The fixture exemplifies Viganò’s rigorous modernist approach, combining architectural clarity with elegant, functional detailing. The lamp features a minimalist metal structure with a carefully articulated form that provides both direct and ambient illumination. Of particular note is the presence of an optional and rare integrated on/off switch, an uncommon and highly desirable feature that enhances both the functionality and originality of the piece. Such switches were not standard on wall-mounted models of the period and are seldom found intact today. The restrained geometry, refined materials, and thoughtful engineering make this wall light suitable for both residential and architectural interiors. Typical of Arteluce production, the craftsmanship and attention to detail are of exceptional quality. An important example of post-war Italian design, reflecting the innovative spirit that positioned Arteluce at the forefront of international lighting design during the 1950s and 1960s.
