Richard Riemerschmid ‘Musikzimmerstuhl’ for Vereinigte Werkstätten, Munich

Item Description

Exceptional limited-edition ‘Musikzimmerstuhl’ designed by Richard Riemerschmid and produced by the original maker, Vereinigte Werkstätten für Kunst und Handwerk, Munich. On the occasion of the company’s 100th anniversary, approximately 100 examples of this historic model were produced as a limited edition. This particularly striking example is executed in black lacquered beech with a vibrant red leather seat, creating a sophisticated and graphic contrast. The chair is in entirely original, pristine condition and has been exceptionally well preserved. Its elegant construction and distinctive silhouette reflect Riemerschmid’s pioneering contribution to German Jugendstil and early modern design. We have a pair available, offered individually. The chairs can be purchased separately or together as a matching pair. Literature: Take a Seat: Masterpieces of Chair Design, Neumann, ppg. 42-43.
