Set of Six Erik Buch Model 49 Dining Chairs, Rosewood and Cognac Vinyl, Denmark

On request

Item Description

A handsome set of six Model 49 dining chairs by Danish designer Erik Buch, manufactured by OD Møbler in 1970. Buch was a leading figure of Danish Modern and a master of warm, sculptural woodwork. Each chair is crafted from solid rosewood, showcasing the rich grain and deep hues that make this prized hardwood so sought after. The sculpted frames flow seamlessly into floating, curved backrests, an Erik Buch hallmark. The backrest gives the chair visual lightness while providing real ergonomic support, so these are as comfortable for a long dinner as they are beautiful to look at. The seats are upholstered in cognac vinyl, a warm and tactile contrast to the dark rosewood. The cognac tone picks up the reddish notes in the grain, and the material is practical for everyday dining. A set of six makes for a generous and cohesive dining arrangement, and these chairs pair well with a rosewood or teak table as well as more contemporary tables in stone or glass. Each chair is marked with the manufacturer’s label underneath the seat, a welcome confirmation of authenticity. Worldwide shipping available. Additional photos, upholstery options, and condition report upon request.
