Item Description

Early executive arm chair with rare height adjustability, tilt and swivel. Designed in 1950 by Eero Saarinen for Knoll International. This example from the ’50’s, with the earliest tilt mechanism. All original, fully functional, the original dark brown 2-tone fabric is still in great vintage condition. Made by Knoll International Belgium, marked with metal foil label. Eero Saarinen (1910–1961) was a visionary Finnish-American architect and designer, renowned for his pioneering contributions to mid-century modernism. His iconic works include the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, the TWA Flight Center at JFK Airport, and the Dulles International Airport terminal. Saarinen’s distinctive style seamlessly blended functionality with aesthetic innovation, characterized by clean lines and sculptural forms.
