Pair of Oxblood Leather ‘LC2’ Arm Chairs by Le Corbusier for Cassina, Signed

On request

Item Description

Pair of LC2, Grand Fauteuil, Petit Modèle executed in beautiful and exquisite oxblood red leather with a chromed tubular steel frame. Designed by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand. Designed for ease of conversation, the armchair was exhibited in 1929 at the Salon d’Automne in Paris as the archetype of the modern concept in furnishings, interpreted by its authors as “household equipment”. This beautiful pair was bought by their previous owners in the 1990’s, and they have carefully maintained the chairs for all those years. The leather is still very soft and supple with nice even patina and the chrome frames are immaculate. This is as good as it gets. The chairs are stamped with a signature and serial number in the frame and marked Cassina underneath the seat cushions. Priced as a pair.
