Item Description
Mart Stam model ‘A2-1’, oak, rush and rope, The Netherlands, 1948. Executed in 1948, this dining chair by Dutch modernist designer and architect Mart Stam (1899-1986) boasts a rustic character. This is achieved by the specific use of materials in conjunction with the clear constructive frame. The backrest and seat are covered with rush and the back is executed with woven rope. The design of this chair must have inspired his French contemporaries Charlotte Perriand, Guillerme & Chambron and Pierre Chapo. Wonderful vintage condition.
