Item Description

For the “Organic Design in Home Furnishings” competition held by the Museum of Modern Art, Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen created an entire series of versions of the Organic chair, each intended for a different sitting position. This set by Vitra consists of two low back chairs and one high back chair with an elongated backrest with a moulded neck support, making it a comfortable armchair for lounging or reading. Marked with Vitra label at the bottom of each chair. Design Charles Eames & Eero Saarinen, 1940. Laminate seat shell, black dyed ash legs, upholstery needs replacement. Measures: Low back: 32.5″ H, 26.5″ D, 28.5″ W, seat: 13.75″ H, 22.25″ D. High back: 42.25″ H, 31″ D, 33.5″ W. Priced as a set.

Good Wear consistent with age and use. Minor fading. Needs new fabric because of discoloration, otherwise in great condition.
