For the “Organic Design in Home Furnishings” competition held by the Museum of Modern Art, Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen created an entire series of versions of the organic chair, each intended for a different sitting position. This high back chair has an elongated backrest with a moulded neck support, making it a comfortable armchair for lounging or reading. Design Charles Eames & Eero Saarinen, 1940. Laminate seat shell, black dyed ash legs. Upholstery replacement recommended, re-upholstery available upon request. Marked with Vitra label at the bottom of each chair.
