Comfortable pair of two-seater sofas designed by Derk Jan de Vries for Domus. Ash plywood frame with trademark rounded edges and loose cushions upholstered in fabric. The sofas have wheels at the rear to move them around easily. Two available, priced individually.
Derk Jan de Vries was a Dutch architect and designer who worked in the Mid-20th Century. His work was characterized by its simplicity, functionality, and use of modern materials. He moved to Milano, Italy at a young age and designed for companies like Fiat and Philips. De Vries is perhaps best known for his design work for Olivetti for which he received the prestigious Compasso ‘d Oro. In the 1980’s he started his own company Domus to produce his trademark plywood designs with rounded corners on a small scale.
