Item Description

Pierre Paulin for Artifort ‘Butterfly’ chair model F675 in nickel-plated steel and leather. This easy chair in original black leather is designed by French designer Pierre Paulin for Artifort. The spacious geometric wire frame supports the beautiful sling leather seating and backrest, which results in very comfortable seating as the leather can form itself to the body. The leather shows a wonderful patina that matches beautifully with the nickel-plated frame.
Pierre Paulin (1927-2009) was a French furniture designer, influenced by the Scandinavian aesthetic, as well as by American prefabrication design. Important is his background in sculpting and stone carving which is the reason why his designs are often opulent and expressive. In 1954 he started a collaboration with Thonet. From 1958 onwards he started to work with Artifort who up to this date produce many of his designs.
