Item Description

Magnificent 3-seater sofa designed by Johannes Andersen in solid rosewood with a concealed steel frame. The advanced design of this rare sofa makes it appear very light and transparent, while it actually is quite heavy and very comfortable. The leather has some creases and scuffs but is still very supple and looks amazing for a sofa of over 60 years old. The solid rosewood frame is also in excellent all original vintage condition. Johannes Andersen (1903–1991) was a Danish cabinet‑maker turned influential mid‑century designer from Aarhus. He trained in woodworking in the early 1920s, then launched his studio in the 1930s. Andersen is celebrated for elegant furniture crafted from premium teak and rosewood, marked by clean lines, organic curves, and functional beauty—hallmarks of Danish modern design.
