Item Description
An exceptionally rare PK70 coffee table designed by Poul Kjærholm and executed in beautifully grained mahogany by PP Møbler, Denmark. Only a very limited number of these tables were produced, making this model one of the most elusive pieces within Kjærholm’s celebrated body of work. The design demonstrates Kjærholm’s distinctive ability to merge rigorous structural clarity with refined materiality. The warm mahogany top is paired with a precise architectural base, creating a harmonious balance between the richness of the wood and the disciplined modernist form for which the designer is renowned. The surface displays a particularly attractive mahogany grain with a deep, elegant tone, giving the table both visual warmth and sculptural presence. The proportions are carefully considered, allowing the piece to function equally well as a central element within a seating group or as a statement object in a refined interior. The table is signed with the branded manufacturer’s mark to the underside: “PP Møbler – Made in Denmark.” This rare model is documented in the literature: Michael Sheridan, The Furniture of Poul Kjærholm: Catalogue Raisonné, pp. 163–166.
