Monumental Mario Bellini “La Corte” Dining Table for Cassina, Italy, 1976

On request

Item Description

A rare and commanding dining table from the “La Corte” series, designed by Mario Bellini for Cassina. Unlike other Bellini dining tables, La Corte is no longer in production. It was offered for sale only in 1976, and only within Italy, which makes it an exclusive piece of Italian design history. The table features an impressive solid ash four-legged cross base that evolves into four large crossed arms supporting the glass plate. The geometry of the foot is relatively simple, yet the result is striking. With its strong stance, thick legs, and pared-back form, the table has a distinctly brutalist feeling. Given sufficient space in the right environment, it will be an absolute highlight. The square glass top is 166 x 166 cm and the height of the table is 75 cm, a generous size and a true centerpiece for a dining room, loft, or open-plan living space. The solid ash base is in good vintage condition. The glass top has edge chips and needs to be replaced. Please see the photos for details. For this reason, our shipping quote is based on shipping the base only. A replacement round or square glass top in custom dimensions is available upon request. The base would also make an excellent foundation for a marble top, for a different and more substantial look. Ask us about options.
