DTW-1 Table in Walnut by Charles Eames for Herman Miller

Item Description

A wonderful, rare DTW-1 table designed by Charles Eames for Herman Miller. Built as a companion piece to the Eames plywood dining chairs, a rectangular, walnut-veneered top is supported by right-angle-bent and tapering walnut veneered plywood legs. An extraordinary example of American midcentury design, in its day featured in a 1946 exhibit of Eames’s plywood furniture at MoMA. Though intended for mass production, these were only produced for a very short period making them quite desirable. In exceptional unrestored condition, an iconic illustration of American Post-War modern.
