Kaufmann table with solid walnut top and maple frame with walnut leg ends, designed by Finn Juhl in 1945. The Kaufmann desk was originally designed for Finn Juhl’s own home. The table has an unusually refined edge giving the impression that the tabletop floats above the elegant maple frame. Finn Juhl deliberately worked with a mix of wooden materials. The table’s many design details have both a practical and a visual function. This is the early version made by Kitani, Japan, marked on the frame.
