Classic tulip dining table designed by Eero Saarinen for Knoll International in the most desirable Calacatta marble. A defining accomplishment of modern design and a timeless addition to your home—a true Classic. Logo embossed in pedestal bottom. Acquired from the first owner. The set of 5 very early armchairs also designed by Eero Saarinen for Knoll international are available upon request. All chairs have a Knoll 320 park avenue tag adhered to the seat under the seat cushion. The tag was printed pre zip codes indicating and authenticating 1950s production. Since the chair was designed in 1955-1956 this is a very early set. The Knoll tags are also still attached to the original Naugahyde seat cushions. Amazing unrestored original condition. Knoll International was founded in New York by the 26 year old German Hans Knoll (1914-1955) in 1938. When Hans Knoll died at a young age his wife Florence Knoll took over and under her influence the company flourished and created its best designs. She designed and led the company where she cooperated with talented designers such as Eero Saarinen, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Richard Schultz and Harry Bertoia.
