Beautiful large desk designed by Jorge Zalszupin, manufactured by L’Atelier San Paulo, circa 1960. Made of high quality jacaranda wood. The desk has four drawers with very well crafted grips made of jacaranda wood and natural leather. In good all original condition with minor wear on the top consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. Jorge Zalszupin is a Brazilian architect and designer noted for modern design. In the 1950s Zalszupin founded L’Atelier, a furniture design manufacturer in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Zalszupin’s designs were included by Oscar Niemeyer in the Palácio da Alvorada and the Palácio do Planalto. A similar desk is featured in the book Brazil Modern by Aric Chen. This is the rare slightly larger version. The original keys with L’Atelier label are even still present. Our shipping quote includes a custom made plywood crate to ship it worldwide safely.
