Cees Braakman was a Dutch furniture designer known for his innovative and functional designs in the mid-20th century. He was born in 1917 and joined the furniture company Pastoe, where he became the head of design in 1948. Braakman’s designs often incorporated new materials and manufacturing techniques, such as using molded plywood and metal tubing. He was also known for his modular furniture designs, which allowed for customizable and adaptable pieces. Braakman’s work was highly influential and remains popular among collectors and design enthusiasts today. He passed away in 1995, but his legacy as a pioneering designer continues to inspire modern furniture design.
