A superb Italian walnut and rosewood desk with matching rosewood and leather armchair, made to measure for the villa of an Italian executive in 1960. The floating boomerang shaped top is covered with the original red leather. The front of the desk is carved with images of modern life in the 1950s like planes and trains and Leonardo da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man. The craftsmanship of this piece is exceptionally. The advanced modern design in combination with the remarkable carving makes this piece truly exceptional. This is a one-off piece, designed by an interior architect for a villa in the south of Italy.
The interior architect also designed a very impressive display cabinet and a smaller desk also with a matching rosewood chair for the villa with the same distinguished characteristics.
