Item Description
A beautifully sculptural organic-shaped sofa produced by Sprij Meubelen in Vlaardingen, The Netherlands, circa 1950. With its flowing walnut frame and exceptionally comfortable construction, this rare sofa is a remarkable example of Dutch mid-century craftsmanship and organic modern design. The elegantly shaped solid walnut frame showcases graceful, flowing lines and finely executed joinery, creating a light and sophisticated silhouette from every angle. Beyond its striking appearance, the sofa was designed with comfort as a priority. The original box-spring seat cushions provide outstanding support, while the vinyl-covered steel spring suspension integrated into the frame enhances flexibility and seating comfort. The walnut frame, spring construction, and box-spring cushions all remain in excellent structural condition, a testament to the quality of its manufacture. The sofa is upholstered in a vibrant orange wool fabric that was commissioned by the original owner approximately 30 years ago. While the upholstery remains usable, reupholstery is recommended to fully complement the exceptional quality and sculptural beauty of the frame. We are happy to arrange professional reupholstery upon request.
