Item Description
A refined pair of SZ48 lounge chairs designed by Martin Visser in 1965 and produced by ‘t Spectrum, the Dutch manufacturer behind much of Visser’s best-known work. Visser is one of the most respected figures in Dutch modernism, known for a rigorous, understated approach in which proportion and construction do the talking. These chairs are a fine example of that sensibility: calm, architectural, and made to be lived with. Both chairs have been newly upholstered in a luxurious mixed beige and cream wool. The woven texture adds warmth and subtle depth, and the soft neutral palette lets Visser’s clean lines take center stage. The result feels fresh and contemporary while remaining true to the spirit of the original design. Sold as a pair, they would work equally well flanking a sofa, framing a fireplace, or anchoring a conversation corner. They sit comfortably in modernist, minimalist, and mid-century interiors alike. Condition: Both chairs have been professionally reupholstered and are in excellent condition. The square black enameled steel frame is in wonderful vintage condition.
